The easiest tow sport to learn

Wakesurf Lessons

No rope, no air, just you riding the wave behind the boat. Most first-timers are riding within the first hour. We'll start you up, dial the wave to your level, and have you grinning ear-to-ear before lunch.

How a Wakesurf Lesson Goes

Wakesurfing is the most beginner-friendly tow sport on the water. Once you're up, the boat throws a wave that pushes you — you ride it just like ocean surfing, only the wave never ends.

  1. Quick safety briefing. ~5 minutes — life jackets fit, signals explained, what to expect.
  2. In the water with a beginner board. We hand you a wider, more forgiving wakesurf board. Knees on, board flat, rope in hand. The boat slowly pulls you up.
  3. First standing rides. Once you're up, the boat's wake is shaped into a clean ramp behind you. You ride the wave. Most people are surfing ropeless within their first 20 minutes.
  4. Progress. Carving back and forth, pumping for speed, dropping the rope, eventually trying turns or 360s. We dial the wave bigger or smaller based on your level.
  5. Cool down. Cruise back, swap riders, snacks. Repeat.

FAQs

I've never done a watersport — can I still do this?

Yes. Wakesurfing is the most beginner-friendly tow sport — most first-timers are up and riding within their first hour. It's lower-impact than wakeboarding and doesn't require holding a rope at full speed.

How long is a lesson?

Typical wakesurf rentals run half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours). Within that, everyone in the group usually gets multiple riding sessions. Pure instruction time is usually 30–60 minutes per person to get up and riding.

Can kids wakesurf?

Generally yes — kids as young as 8 with reasonable strength and confidence in water can pick it up. Smaller boards are available. Parents in the boat. We always err on the side of safety.

What if it's windy or rainy?

We monitor conditions. Light rain is usually fine. Lightning or unsafe wind means we reschedule, no penalty. Cooler covered seating areas on all boats.
